Our Members

The Women’s Business Connection (WBC) of Chester County was founded as the Women’s Referral Network (WRN) in 1987. Our first meeting was held in May of that year with more than fifty local business women in attendance.
In 2013, the board voted to officially change the name to Women’s Business Connection to promote the idea of organically connecting businesses (women networking), as opposed to the misconception of a referral-based group. Our first Business Expo was held in 2003. Women owned and operated businesses gathered in a trade show format to promote their businesses to the public. In 2008, we hosted our Premier Annual Awards Celebration honoring outstanding member businesswomen, and featuring keynote speaker Jill Chernekoff of Chernekoff Communications. In 2015, we replaced the Business Expo with our premier event Meet Me At The Mansion. This event offered the opportunity for women networking and business showcasing.
The focus of the WBC has continued to expand from the initial networking opportunity for women in business to include charitable work in the community. We have “adopted” various charities over the years as Community Outreach Partners. The first was the YWCA of Chester County. Then the group raised awareness and funds for The Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County. Next, we supported The Career Wardrobe and Habitat for Humanity of Chester County’s Women Build. In 2007, we focused on bringing awareness and help to The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. During 2008 and 2009, the WBC supported the efforts of the Chester County Opportunities Industrialization Centers and in 2010 and 2011, the Women’s Resource Center and Bridge of Hope Lancaster and Chester Counties in 2012 and 2013. Our current partner is Wings for Success.Tremendous progress continues to be made by the WBC to keep its members active in the community and with each other, and to help its membership grow their businesses through the power of networking. Our members include dynamic local business women and entrepreneurs. Join, and watch WBC members continue to grow as leaders in their communities.

I have gained valuable personal and professional relationships through the WBC. I have had the opportunity to attend educational and enlightening luncheons through the various great speakers the WBC has each month.
